DINAMIKA TERKINI HARGA DIRI RENDAH PADA REMAJA: ANALISIS FAKTOR MELALUI KAJIAN LITERATUR

The prevalence of mental disorders, particularly depression, is expected to increase in the future and is a contributing factor to low self-esteem and suicide. Depressive mental disorders occur in 6.2% of the 15-24 age group. The chance of Indonesian adolescents includes a 2 percent low self-esteem rate compared with those in Asia region. Low self-esteem in adolescents can be caused by psychologically immature self-concept of interacting and socializing. A low self-esteem in adolescents influence the social process with his peers. The purpose of this literature review is to know factors that affect low self-esteem in adolescents. Methods: This study used narrative literature review from the indexed international journal namely Elsevier, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. the search was upon from summon database of University of Indonesia (p) "adolescence" (I) "effect of low self-esteem" "impact" and output (o) "self-esteem". Results: Literature review is obtained from four articles related to low self-esteem factors that show that body image, parental rejection , unrealistic expectations, recurring failures, lack of personal responsibility, interdependency on others, and an ideal attitude. Other factors such as age, gender, ethnicity, factor in upbringing, environmental and social economics are also influence the adolescents’ self-esteem. Conclusion: Self-esteem in adolescents is influenced by some of the factors namely body image, factor experiences Factor in age, gender, ethnicity, factor in upbringing, environmental and social economics. Interventions such as family support, psychosocial-based education programs, and digital literacy, can be implemented to help adolescents develop more positive self-esteem
